Miss Tembisa Queen

Emma Sibiya holds national diploma in generic and leadership management .

She is an advocate for change leadership training and character building as an avenue to eliminate the cycle of poverty within her community.

She weekly works towards achieving this by being involved in various projects within her community and surrounding schools which enables her to mentor and be directly involved in teaching leadership skills to the youth and therefore shaping the future Leaders of her community.

Emma Mello is a 23 year old young leader from Winnie Mandela. She is currently studying Management of Technology and Innovation at DaVinci Institution.

She is an aspiring model and currently an advocate for youth empowerment who believes that continuous upskilling can help end the high rate of unemployment in our communities

Nobuhle Chauke is a vibrant 21 year old currently studying BSc in computer sciences at the University of South Africa. She is a PA by profession and her greatest passion is striving for women employment

Miss Tembisa Queen

Mahlako Machaba is the reigning Miss Tembisa 2021/22. She is a 20-year-old from a Township called Isiphetweni Section. Mahlako is a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) student at the University of South Africa.

She describes herself as a young woman who is courageous, ambitious and resilient. She strongly believes that hard work is the key to achieve success. Mahlako is passionate about girl empowerment and her goal is to end period poverty to enable the girl child to go to school when she’s on her period. She works towards achieving this goal by donating sanitary pads at the Masiqakaze Art Centre and other various initiatives.

Her daily motivation is: “Big journeys begin with small steps”.

Miss Tembisa 1st Princess

Caitlin Shantell Lubisi is the current miss Tembisa 2021 /22 1st Princess. She is a 23 year old Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching student at the University of South Africa.

She describes herself as a confident, compassionate young woman who embodies self-worth. She strives to become an independent woman who is self-sufficient and uses that to encourage the youth to strive for independence by still seeing education, in all aspects, as the key they need to start a better life. Caitlin engages in exercising to keep her mind and body healthy and hopes to encourage others to take care of themselves for they only have one body to live in. She aims to host a fitness bootcamp which is an annual event which the Miss Tembisa Pageant organises twice every year. She also plans to have a fun day that brings children together to talk about what they their dreams are and what they would have to do to achieve those dreams.

She is ready to make an impact in the life of the youth for them to get more out of life through education. She lives by the quote: your circumstances do not define how your life will be in the end.

Tlou Alguordias Hlako is the reigning Miss Tembisa 2nd Princess.  She is a 21 year old aspiring entrepreneur from Vusimuzi and an LLB student at the University of South Africa. She describes herself as a persistent and courageous person.

Tlou loves giving back to the community and plans on continuing her clothing drives and regularly visiting orphanage homes in Tembisa. She plans on continuing her clean-up campaigns as she believes in the importance of sustaining our environment and making it a safe and healthy place for our people.

Her favourite quote is by Roy T. Bennett  “Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable more than you imagine.” She says this quote is her anchor of motivation and the reason why she strives for success.

Precious Matinketsa is the reigning Miss Tembisa. She is a 25-year-old System Developer who describes herself as a very dedicated, courageous and goal-oriented proactive member of the Tembisa community. With her qualifications, she is working at an HVAC company as a programmer in their Technology Center. She lives by the belief that “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel”.  Throughout her year of reign, she will be involved in various activities including volunteering at Phuthanang Training Centre for the disabled with her Computer skills and visiting different places around Tembisa to educate the youth about social issues that we are facing on a daily basis. Most importantly she will also be busy with donation drives.

Mmathebe Hunadi Petje is the current Miss Tembisa 1st Princess. She is a 24-year-old who describes herself as a determined and vigorous yet pleasantly calm individual. She’s a full-time student, motivated by her love for learning and succeeding as she strives to become an outstanding and successful young woman in society. With the definitive goal of becoming a professional model, she’s currently completing her Diploma in Business Management at the University of South Africa. Apart from the aforementioned, she enjoys reading and most importantly spending time with her loved ones. During her reign, she will be focusing on her “Feed the Nyaope Boy” drive as she believes that everyone deserves a chance and has the right not to go to bed with an empty stomach.

Boitumelo Makaepea is the current Miss Tembisa 2020/21 2nd Princess. She is a 20-year-old Honours student in Counseling Psychology at the University of South Africa and a University of Pretoria Alumni.

She describes herself as a resilient embodiment of courage and compassion. She is strongly passionate about education and exploring societal issues affecting our lives on a daily basis. It is for this reason that she has made it her mission to help and encourage young people to apply to higher institutions and serve as a guideline to helping them choose their career paths.

She is all about making a positive impact in people’s lives and embraces the quote: “breaking the stereotype, making a landmark”

Miss Tembisa Miss Congeniality

Lungile Mnisi is Miss Tembisa Congeniality 2020/21. She is a 23-year-old young lady, born and raised in Tembisa, currently studying at MSC Business College. She describes herself as beautiful, capable, smart and ambitious. She is passionate about her life and being crowned as Miss Tembisa Congeniality 2020/21 brought a ray of hope in her life. She believes in changing the stereotypes surrounding Tembisa and knows that only the youth can change that if they are granted the right opportunities.

During her reign this year she will visit different children’s homes and centres to make donations, including continuing with the #HotdogFriday initiative. She will also be advocating the importance of education because it can be the main source of avoiding unemployment and GBV.

Lungile is motivated by the quote: “Don’t stop when you are tired, stop when you are done”.

2019/20

Mohau Matinketsa

Mohau Matinketsa is a 21-year-old student at the University of Johannesburg doing her Honours in Strategic Communication. She is a bold and brave young leader who believes that dust settles but Queens don’t. During her year of reign, she will be working with Trendsetter Youth Foundation Art Centre in Ebony Park with the aim being to encourage participation in, and support for the arts. She will also be helping with extra lessons as well as university guidance. Additionally, she does an ongoing clothing drive, where she donates the clothes to a cause that needs the clothes at that moment. She will be working on the social media and marketing aspects of the Miss Tembisa Pageant brand.

Masechaba Kobola

Miss Tembisa 1st Princess

Masechaba Kobola is a 20-year-old final year student at Boston Media House studying towards a Diploma In Media Practices majoring in Radio Broadcasting. She describes herself as a bubbly, talkative and very ambitious person and lives unapologetically. Besides modelling and being a pageant girl she works part-time at a retail store just for the experience and has helped her in handling peoples characters and understanding every personality that comes her way she says. She is very passionate about helping the less privileged and making a difference in her community with the little that She has. She has decided to adopt a school called Phomolong Primary School in her community for her reign in a sense where she will be focusing on young boys and girls – offering emotional support to them and necessities such as sanitary, school shoes and socks to name a few. This project will not only happen during her reign only but she aims at continuing with it and make it her baby. She has chosen this specific school because she believes this is where she needs to start and make a difference before she can expand her work.

Nancy Kgomo

Miss Tembisa 2nd Princess

Nancy Kgomo is a 22-year-old student at the University of Johannesburg studying Bachelor of Environmental Management. She is the reigning Miss Tembisa 2nd Princess. She has been privileged to have been mentored by the former winners of the pageant and this year she will be sharing the knowledge with others. She has been a member of the Ikamva Youth since 2016, a tutoring centre that is dedicated to helping high school students to do well and this year she will continue to work with them.

Rhulani Faith Mathevula (2 December 1999) was born and raised in Tembisa Hospital View. She is a multi-talented, driven but selfless young lady currently studying business administration at Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology. Apart from school and her glamorous pageant life, there’s a couple of hobbies she loves to indulge herself in such as reading, baking, dancing, singing and drawing, but it is certain that most of the time you will definitely find her at any place surrounded by children. By her spending time and showing her love for the little ones, it fills her heart with so much joy. Being a helping hand to those in need is something that’s very dear to Rhulani because of the passion she has for giving. She believes that we should do the little things for others, for those little things may occupy the biggest part in their hearts.
